Socially Distance on the Harbor
Camden Maine is a seaside village on Penobscot Bay that opens up into the Atlantic Ocean. From the shoreline, you can look out and see hundreds of miles of ocean, islands and blue skies. Curtis Island is not far from the shoreline and many kayak out there to walk around the hiking trail that circles the island. *You can rent a Kayak from Maine Sport Outfitters. They even have guides that will take you out there, and beyond. If kayaking, isn’t your style, you can sit by the harbor and enjoy a picnic at the new picnic benches the town has placed around. You can choose to eat by the waterfall or in harbor park near the Curtis Amphitheatre near the Camden Public Library. Look out and enjoy the daysailers and Windjammers. If you see a little black head pop out of the water, don’t be afraid, its just one of the many harbor seals that the locals enjoy this time of year.
For the families: There is a brand new swing set located at Laite Beach. Let the kids run and enjoy views of Penobscot Bay!
Sailing
Camden Maine is known for some of the best sailing in the entire world. There are Windjammers that take guests out for multi day sails and Schooners that take guests out for short 2 hour tours. The boats have been preparing themselves to host less people and put social distance requirements into practice. Less people onboard, means more room for you to relax and enjoy the landscape from the sea!
