Laugh Loud, Smile Big Cupcake Shop
If you’re craving a sweet treat, the Laugh Loud, Smile Big Cupcake Shop is a fantastic new spot in town, right on Main Street. If you have a particular cupcake in mind, it’s easy to pre-order on their website, but don’t hesitate to just pop in and see what catches your eye too. The menu boasts an ever-changing array of both classic and more innovative flavors – keep an eye out for some of our favorites like salted caramel and red velvet.
The Maine Lobster Festival
While the Maine Lobster Festival has been around for quite a while (75 years in fact!), new for this year, all entry to the festival is free! We are so looking forward to getting together as a community again after several hard years and are eager to share what makes our Maine community special with visitors from near and far. Taking place right next door in neighboring Rockland, the festival will take place August 3 – 7 and features an array of food, entertainment, and crafts. Of course, you won’t want to miss all of the lobster dishes, ranging from lobster mac and cheese to classic lobster rolls, and even lobster stuffed risotto balls! If you’re looking for more physical fun, try out the Lobster Crate Race, where you’ll attempt to sprint across a string of lobster crates hung in the harbor.
If you’re looking to pair your lobster feast with a delicious beverage, you’ll want to check out the Steins and Vines event at the Lobster Festival. Bigger than in any years past, this event will be held Thursday, August 4, and Friday, August 5 with two sessions each day. You’ll be able to try the best wines, beers, and spirits from all around Maine while learning more about the process of craft brewing.
Camden Art Walk
Each and every third Thursday, May through October, you’ll be able to take part in a Camden Art Walk, where you can explore local art galleries and shops. Stores and galleries will keep their doors open after five to welcome everyone to their spaces. You’ll get the chance to buy local art and goods, and meet the many merchants and artists who call Camden home. It’s a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the temperate evening weather and the perfect way to build up an appetite before enjoying some of Camden’s fantastic waterfront dining.
Salt Wharf
We can’t wait for Salt Wharf to make its debut later this summer! Conveniently located directly in Lyman-Morse Marina, the wharf-side dining spot will feature fresh and local seafood options with plenty of outside dining. The rooftop bar promises beautiful views and fantastic cocktails, perfect for date nights under the stars or relaxed gatherings with friends.
Camden Hills
While the stunning views of the water at Camden Hills State Park certainly aren’t new, the thirty miles of varied trails mean there is always something new to see! If you’re not quite ready to mix and mingle in crowds or restaurants, Camden Hills is just up the road and has trails for all hikers of all abilities. If you’re up for a quick hike with a few scrambles, check out Mount Battie Trail. It’s just 0.5 miles, and the peak will give you a beautiful view over Camden and the bay.
